CHOR started as a simple idea: neighbours helping neighbours. Here's how it became something bigger.
CHOR was born in a flat in Hackney in early 2024. Our founder, exhausted from juggling work and a never-ending list of errands, posted a note in a neighbourhood WhatsApp group asking if anyone could help. Within an hour, three people replied. The task got done, money changed hands via a bank transfer, and a friendship was made.
The moment felt significant — not just the convenience, but the human connection. There was something genuinely good about neighbours helping neighbours, about trust being exchanged alongside a payment. We thought: what if this worked everywhere, for everything?
So we built CHOR — a platform designed around that same feeling of community warmth, with the reliability and security that people deserved. No faceless contractors. No big-platform vibes. Just people, close by, helping each other out.
Every helper is reviewed by the community. We never cut corners on safety so you don't have to think about it.
CHOR is about your street, your town, your people — not a national contractor database pretending to be local.
We charge a small platform fee. Doers keep the majority of what they earn. That's the deal, and it doesn't change.
Thousands of people already helping each other. Come be part of it.
